Maria is a recent graduate of Chemistry (with Co-op) from  McMaster University. During her co-op work terms she has worked at  NMX Research and Solutions and in the LaPlante lab. She loves working with this group so much that she just won't leave!  As a co-op student, while balancing her work at NMX, she served as the coordinator for the Academic Industry Partnership Symposium 2019 (AIPS 2019) and developed/maintains the lab website. 

 

Her scientific interests include medicinal chemistry, biophysics and structural biology. But as a person with many interests, she is also interested in entrepreneurship, and optimization of academic-industrial collaborations.
