Kathleen Amiens

PhD Student

Kathleen obtained her B.Sc degree in Molecular Organic and then her M.Sc. degree in Health Chemistry at the Paul Sabatier University, at Toulouse (France), in 2021.

She moved to Canada in 2022 as an intern in LaPlante Lab (INRS), for working in drug discorvery research and become a PhD student in Medicinal Chemistry in January 2023, in the same work team. Her research concerns new ways to optimize the passage from the hit to lead, by the application of FBDD/FBLD.

She is currently working in an international and pluridisciplinary team with biophysicians, biochemists, virologists, pharmacists where she is learning scientific specificities, exchange skills and knowledges. About her interests, she enjoys drug discovery research and using organic chemistry combined with other disciplines to find potential therapeutic molecules.
